# How to create a Stripe account

Stripe is a payment gateway that allows businesses and creators to accept payments online. 
Creating a Stripe account is easy, and in this guide, we will walk you through the process step-by-step.



### Step 1: Go to [Stripe.com](https://stripe.com/)

Click on the “Start now” button located in the center of the homepage.

### Step 2: Fill Out the Signup Form

Enter your email address, full name and create a password.

### Step 3: Verify Your Email Address

After submitting the signup form, Stripe will popup a notification that allows you to directly click on an "open email" link.
It will lead you to the email address you provided.

Click on the " Verify email address" button.

### Step 4: Active Payments

As soon as you verify your account, Stripe will prompt you to active payments.

Fill out your business details, personal details and public details, such as your legal name, business name, business type, and business address.

The third part will ask you to secure your account by setting two-step authentication.
